As an architect providing services to developers, corporations and individual clients, Charles A. Samson has established a reputation for commitment to excellence in design. In 1991, Mr. Samson began his own practice specializing in custom house additions, remodels and new residences. He provides quality design and architectural services, and brings an enthusiasm and commitment to every project regardless of size, type and budget. Additionally, Mr. Samson's background in Real Estate development has given him a unique insight into the financial aspects of residential renovation and construction. His aim is to create value-added design that starts with strategic plans and ends with cost effective construction.
Previous projects designed by Mr. Samson have ranged in scale from kitchen remodels and second floor additions, to complete demolition and reconstruction. While most of these projects are located in the west Los Angeles neighborhoods of Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, Bel-Air and Beverly Hills, Mr. Samson has also completed residences in Palm Springs, Ojai, Seattle, Denver, Boston, Louisiana and Canada. These projects have also varied considerably in style, and include Cape Cod/New England, Tudor, Georgian, Spanish Mediterranean, Craftsman, Art Deco, and Contemporary/Modern. Mr. Samson's unique design solutions are created specifically for each and every context. He has no formula or single style, and works towards preserving and enhancing a home's existing conditions. Although the style of each project varies considerably, the one consistent theme in Mr. Samson's work is his ability to match existing architectural details in order to fit the addition seamlessly within the existing home.
Mr. Samson's previous professional experience as an architect for firms in Boston and Los Angeles encompassed a broad range of building types, including commercial office complexes, condominium projects, and hospitality resorts. Mr. Samson obtained his Massachusetts architectural registration in 1989 and his California registration in 1992. He is also certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). In addition to his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Louisiana State University, he studied Real Estate Marketing at Harvard University, and obtained a Masters degree in Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California.
